Carpet ties to petroleum

Most people do not realize that the majority of carpeting is petroleum based. Further that basic supply for any carpet comes from two sources controlled by the petroleum industry. Carpet manufacturers are at the "mercy" of the supply. Various chemicals are added to help create the various varieties and texture of carpet. Wool is the exception to most carpet used by consumers today. Wool is a natural fiber and typically last decades.
